I adjusted it while holding a guitar sample and it didn't seem to do much so I put it back to the center.

That's the trimpot inside poking through the pcb, yes?

I haven't fucked with mine. Should I?

i should note that if anyone is about to embark and you find that i've mistakenly not marked the trim's casing so you can return it to the standard position then you probably should before you do anything. i'm pretty sure i let one or two slip by me without one. just use a soft tipped pen, or a drop of paint or nail polish or something

donít forget

Ok, so I just opened the box to set switch 3 up like The Man suggested, and I decided to fuck with the Climb pot and oh my word!

Very nice - fully cranked it can feedback super hard and then get pulled right down in nice rhythmic steps. I use this technique a lot with my modular where I will put a delay or other effect into it's own VCA and use Gates to manually open and close the VCA at varying times so the effect kind of jumps in and out of the mix instead of always being constant. This is kick ass in the SLIGHT because you don't need an external VCA or audio Gate effect to achieve controllable runaway feedback.

Lovely.

ok, that makes me think I'm doing something wrong...but I just tried it again and moving turning the pot slightly changes the tone of the sample but that's it. And I don't have an indicator mark and didn't take note of the stock position, but it doesn't really matter since the difference is so slight.....

You will only notice something if the sampler is getting triggered by the button or other means.

Ok, and pardon my ignorance a bit here...but when you say "the sampler is getting triggered"...what exactly do you mean there? Like an LFO CV source?

Hold the button down while turning the climb. Or have the aux input getting a fairly constant trigger, or grab a sample and throw the hold switch and then move the climb.

For note: going to one side of the "normal" posiition doesn't seem to do much, but going all the way the other side is very noticeable...lotsa runaway feedback!

Thanks for bringing it up! I like that you can dial in different feedback flavors as the way the box gets used will vary (a little) between uses for me. I left mine defaulted just about halfway between the factory setting and complete chaos.
